of Himalayan Crochet Artisans
When we were young and enchanted by knitting, we'd search for discarded, old umbrellas. With patience, we'd dismantle them, reclaiming the spokes. Sharpened against stones, these became our first pair of knitting needles. We'd eagerly run to our grandmother, pestering her to teach us. It's even more fascinating that the very skill we learned out of sheer passion now sustains our livelihood.

Before joining my group doing leatherwork, I was working as a daily wage worker in agricultural fields. We received training for 1 year with well trained teacher. I have learned and am now making bags easily. I have 2 kids and my husband passed away. Once he passed away our lives were miserable and I had no hope to feed and educate my children. Now my kids are studying in our school. Recently my son finished year 10. To give a better future is the most important thing to me. Here I am working in a friendly atmosphere. Everyone is treated equally. I am getting regular income. I enjoy working here and have hope.
